Paul Rankin Supports Concern Worldwide
PAUL RANKIN SHOWS HIS CONCERN
For the last 12 years, leading chef Paul Rankin has been supporting Concern Worldwide, the international humanitarian organisation dedicated to reducing suffering and ending extreme poverty in the world’s least developed countries. In February he is to travel to Ethiopia to see for himself the incredible work that the charity does on the ground.
The trip is being undertaken at the invitation of Concern who wanted to show Paul at first hand how it spends the money that has been raised through the fund-raising campaigns and events he has supported.
The second objective of the visit is to use Paul’s background and profile to show another, infrequently seen, side of Ethiopia. In between visits to Concern’s projects, Paul will be visiting local restaurants and markets to learn about the immense culture and cuisine of the country.
Concern will be the charity of choice for the Rankin Group throughout 2010. As well as Paul continuing to endorse a range of fund raising activities and to use his profile to engage other potential donors, support will also include an on-pack promotion through the Rankin Selection Brand and provision of gifts in kind for the Concern Fast 2010.
Commented Rose Caldwell, Executive Director of Concern Worldwide (UK):
“Paul has been a generous supporter of Concern’s for over a decade and we are delighted that he is travelling to Ethiopia to see the vital work we do with some of the world’s poorest communities. He’ll be visiting a range of our programmes, both rural and in the capital Addis Ababa, and will be able to see for himself the enormous impact they have on the people involved.”
