Noodles City, Camberwell Green, Chinese buffet
Noodels City – a recently opened buzzing restaurant in Camberwell; the
heart of South east London. Local employees and residents dominate the
large establishment during their lunch break(s). The restaurant was
tastefully furnished by the previous owners of ‘Mozzarella e Pomodora’
with leather high backed dining chairs and fine art on the walls. Although
the quality of food cannot be compare to the previous restaurant which
delivered exceptional service and a taste of Italy.
For an all-you-can-eat restaurant the furnishings are a long way from the
usual hard wooden benches and inexpensive chairs used in most of the other
low cost eating-out establishments. However it must be said the Chinese
ornaments, hung over the existing chandeliers are a little out of place.
But the buffet spread is reasonable for the credit crunch busting price of
£5 per head, water and cans 80p and tea £1.20.
The service is to be expected from this type of establishment you are
asked to pay first and given one large and small plate to use on your
visit. (Perhaps to discourage waste; which is chargeable if excessive.)
The buffet spread consists of the usual chicken wings, curries, fish, rice
and noodles not ‘noodels’ which is the spelling on the sign outside. The
restaurant is Halal therefore pork is not used in any of the dishes so
spare ribs and mixed meat fried rice are not served.
The new restaurant in the prime location for commuters and locals is value
for money. So if you are hungry and pass the restaurant located on the
corner opposite the green in Camberwell; pop in and try it for yourself.
The restaurant is not for everyone; but people and families on a budget
will get their moneys worth
Horrible, horrible, horrible… From the garish sign with its misspelling of Noodles and horrible upside down photos of noodles to the reheated salty pap that is served in the buffet.
We lost a lovely Italian restaurant (reasonable – 2 meals £30-40 including wine) for this fast food barn. Still it sadly seems to be what the Camberwell demographic are happy with.
I have to agree with the comment preceding mine.
Food was horrendous.
People and decor were hideous.
Staff looked like they had just stepped out of a ring in their native cardboard city.
Atmosphere noise was all atrocious.
Never again…dyslexic amateur cooks…restaurant police please take em away!!

:S
PS
Please bring back the ITALIAN RESTAURANT…It was one of the few decent, good eats in the increasingly worsening state of Camberwell’s social stratosphere…ooooh the agony!!
Such unfair comments above, for the people who are not as wealthy as you, its a fantastic restaurant which offers value for the money, the food was great the place clean and the staff very helpful,so what the italian restaurant is no more, im sure you rich brats can find another italian restaurant to dine i recommend the west end,and please stop the racist comments(native cardbord city)how low vanessa farquharson should be ashamed of yourself in this day and age, perhaps its because the hog is not on the menu why you’re so mad,I bet you ate your £5 worth.
i think it’s a lovely place. the food is cooked to the highest standards and the prawns are my favourite dish.
im glad the italian is no longer there as it was over priced and always empty.
I have been there once and I think that it is good that there is such eatery’s out there for that kind of price. The majority went up for seconds and thirds, so the food couldn’t have been that bad! (I do remember the Italian restaurant, its true, it was always empty)!
I thought that the place was clean and the chairs were lovely and comfortable, I would say: 8/10.
I agree with mariam. I am italian but I really enjoyed the food, unfortunately I did miss the lamb because was late evening but I am looking forward to go there again.
I live in the local area and have visted this establishment on several occasions the food is ok u get what u pay for majority of the time the noodles are sloppy but their squid is really good.
I would not visted this establishment again to a recent disagreement with the manager who swore at me several times and was very aggressive towards me due to my son who is nearly threes years old taking a piece of cuecumber out of the salad bar.
I find it disapointing that the manager treats his customers this way as it is a ok place to have a quick bite to eat.
