Madame Zingara

Madame Zingara

Peta Synnot-Marzetti reports…

In a word… Wow.

I recently visited my home country South Africa. One Night
I was whisked away by 4 friends into a world of fantasy and culinary
delight. The name… Madame Zingara.

The concept was started by a gentleman called Richard Griffin, his aim,to
lead one off into an evening of pure delight. This travelling theatre is
housed in a beautiful antique spiegelpaleis, built in the 1920’s Victoria is
an absolute beauty. Once you enter this magical world, you are lead to your
table by one of an array of weird and wonderful characters. These characters
double up as the waiting staff and provide entertainment in-between the
exciting show and mouth watering food.Once you think that all your senses
have been tantalised there is an after dinner opportunity to dance off all
those calories. All in all and evening fit for a Queen.

Now you are probably wondering why I am telling you about this wonderful
evening that I encountered in South Africa?

As Luck would have it this Dinner/cirque/theatre extravaganza is about to debut at the Battersea Power
Station in London on the 12th of December 2008. Check out their website and
book now as they are only in London until March 2009

I went last weekend and loved everything about it. The performers were brilliant and every act had an element of theatricality and showmanship that raised them above the traditional circus performances. The setting was stunning and the food fantastic, though you almost forget this is a dining experience given everything else going on!

Don’t miss Madame Zingara’s magical world! The atmosphere is amazing, indulgent and romantic. From start to finish, the meal was outstanding in every way and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious vegetarian options. No nut roast here, folks! Then, of course, there’s the show which is funny, exhilirating and fascinating. Worth every penny – and more!!
