When my friends from home came to visit me, my colleagues
recommended trying Spectrum. They said it was a chic place to chill out
with some drinks which sounded perfect for catching up with old friends.

We went on a Thursday night in November and found it was fairly busy that
night, but not overly crowded. When we walked in, I immediately noticed
the variety of colours in the sleek atmosphere. The place was very
sophisticated but the environment felt extremely welcoming. The huge glass
windows were beautiful and my friends loved seeing the entire city lit up
at night, a big change from our small Brighton home. We could clearly see
the Thames River as well as the London Eye.

The whole meal was absolutely delicious. We started with tapas ? garlic
and chilli tiger prawns with chorizo (£6) and the Mediterranean vegetable
tagine with chick peas and courgette (£4) ? and I ordered the fusilli con
gorgonzola (£8.75) which was one of the best pastas I?ve ever had. My mate
raved about her Napolitano pizza (£8.25), claiming it competed with her
Italian food experience. My other friend, being a vegetarian, chose the
ceps and wild roquette gnocchi (£11.25) and devoured the entire dish.
There was a large selection of cocktails and I selected the ?As Good as It
Gets? (£6.75) which described the entire evening perfectly. When the bill
came it was reasonably priced, less than £70 with service charge,
especially considering the great food, excellent drinks and wonderful
service we experienced throughout the evening.

It was an ideal place to catch up old mates as it was hip and not too
loud. Also, the crowd there was semi-young, perfect for three singletons
to scope out men. I will certainly be returning in the future.
