Robbie Coltrane donned his apron to cook up a hot little number in Glasgow for his new ITV series ‘B Road Britain’
India Quay were delighted to host Robbie Coltrane when he donned his apron at their contemporary Indian restaurant in Glasgow as part of his new TV programme for ITV1 called ‘Robbie Coltrane’s B Road Britain’ which transmitted earlier this year.

Pardeep Sanghera commented:
“Since Robbie’s appearance, the number of new clientele has doubled, with customers calling from all over the UK to make their reservation. Our appearance on the show has made us somewhat of a landmark, like the Finnieston Crane and Squinty Bridge.
People planning a trip to Glasgow, are now making a point of booking a table. Last week an Australian tourist embarking on her own tour of Britain, watched the show and booked a table. Afterwards she urged us to open a place in Australia!”

Robbie arrived at India Quay, and learned how to cook a curry India Quay style, before holding his own in the kitchen and catering for a full house of customers. He was treated as another member of staff whilst helping raise hundreds of pounds go towards the Oxfam River Basin Charity. India Quay also contributed 25% of their turnover of the evening to the charity. India Quay carried out this hugely successful event as part of their charity event for the Curry Capital Awards.
B Road Britain was a new 3 part series for ITV1 which followed Robbie’s journey, in a vintage Jaquar convertible, from London to Glasgow without using motorways. The premise of the series was Robbie Coltrane’s travels from London to Glasgow, willfully driving off the beaten track on a quest to re-discover the essence of Britishness. Along the journey, he met some of the most interesting people in the country, people with unexpected talents, knowledge and skills. Through their unique passions, Robbie took stock of our nation, its extraordinary people, and its real character. Already in a prominent position on the Banks of the Clyde, it is safe to say India Quay has been placed firmly on the map and is no longer on the B Road.
India Quay, Glasgow’s new premier Indian restaurant opened on the foreshore of the Clyde in October 2005.
