Pataka Indian and Bengali Restaurant

Situated in the Newington area of Edinburgh, Pataka’s distinctive Charles Rennie McIntosh interior, complete with carved private wooden booths, creates a unique and contemporary appearance challenging the design of more traditional Indian restaurants. Pataka offers innovative infusions of Bengali and Scottish culture, whilst a selection of more traditional dishes are also on the menu. The restaurant offers a number of fantastic meat free options with an imaginative and unique vegetarian menu available.

Pataka has featured Ian Rankin’s novels ‘Set in Darkness’ when Detective Inspector Rebus paid the Edinburgh restaurant a visit whilst reviewers have recognised the restaurant as one of the top ten Indian Restaurants in Scotland (Scotland on Sunday). Pataka has been reviewed and highly recommended by many local papers and food guides and is listed in The List Eating and Drinking Guide 2007.
