OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie | New Bar Opening In Novemeber 2010
New Bar to open in November
OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie
One of London’s most iconic venues, OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie is excited to announce the launch of a new bar this November. Presiding high over the river Thames, the new bar will boast it’s own stunning views over London and St Paul’s. With an impressive interior alongside an innovative new hallmarked drinks list and lunch menu, the new OXO Tower Bar will be a must visit destination.
Designed by, Shaun Clarkson ID, the new interior takes in some of the original design elements from the Restaurant and Brasserie retaining the feel of a classic cruise liner, whilst at the same time introducing some strikingly modern touches. Mustard yellow tub chairs and dark green bar stools will create an arresting contrast with the dark wooden floors and eye-catching curved white corian bar. The back bar will feature a chrome mosaic lit with LEDs creating an atmospheric setting for Bar Manager, Ian Goodman and his team’s inspired new cocktail offering. Three curved booths, each seating six will benefit from the prime window position, with un-interrupted views over the Thames. The booths will be available to reserve and are sure to be the most popular seats in the house.
The new cocktail list, featuring over 50 drinks will encompass both traditional and new styles with a particular nod to artisan and epicurean drinks and aperitifs. The bar team at OXO have spent the summer creating their own tinctures, bitters and cordials including rosehip syrup, sloe and damson gins, brandied cherries and elderflower cordial, used in the Dry Fino Spritz, an aperitif style sherry spritzer. The history of the area inspires the traditional cocktails with Victorian pleasure boat style drinks such as the High Seas, made with rum and home made orange water.
The food offering, with a new bar menu from Brasserie head chef, Deon Jansen, offers a quick, casual alternative to dining in the main Restaurant or Brasserie. The menu has been styled to be fresh and tasty with a seasonal twist. Diners can enjoy a shared plate of Whole Atlantic prawns and grilled octopus with romesco sauce, a great steak sandwich or healthy salads like, Marinated feta, avocado, mixed super sprout salad, lime garlic yogurt dressing.
