Mark Fuller’s Sanctum Soho Hotel, London

ROCK AND ROLL HOTEL SANCTUM IS A FAMILY AFFAIR

The stunning 30 room boutique hotel is now a family run business and owner Mark Fuller has got his mother Joan Lawson in charge of housekeeping and is looking to extend the Fuller hospitality dynasty with son Max Fuller who is learning his trade and is currently working as a bar tender at the 24-hour cocktail bar in the hotel.

Sanctum Soho launched in April this year and has thrived despite the recession and has and average of 90% occupancy rates but Mark decided that the best way to remain cost effective was to keep it in the family.

He said:

“I didn’t set out to work with family but my son was really interested
in the hospitality sector and he started to work here with me. Also my mother is
absolutely fastidious when it comes to cleaning and customer service and she has
become an indispensible part of the team. Also there are clear advantages to
employing family, firstly there is a strong bond of trust and the comforting
knowledge that they care about your work as much as you do.”

Mark Fuller is best known for owning Mayfair restaurant and members club Embassy and the unconventional owner of the Sanctum Soho launched the hotel with a three- part BBC1 documentary called Rock and Roll Hotel. The moniker has now stuck and
Tom Clarke from The Enemy and Pussycat Doll Kymberley Wyatt are regular guests.
