LUXURY LIVING IS BACK FOR 2010, AGE OF AUSTERITY OVER, SAYS CHAMPNEYS
Britain’s favourite health resort, Champneys, has seen a significant increase in the number of pre-Christmas bookings – a clear indicator, that for many people – the recession is over.
No one is forgoing luxuries or holding back on treatments or relaxing. It’s let the good times roll at Champneys. There’s no doom and gloom, but rose buds blossoming and scented candles glowing. I’m seeing many happy faces at all of our resorts.
Pre-Christmas bookings for week stays at all four resorts have been incredibly high. In fact, Champneys Henlow is already completely full up for Christmas. Champneys Tring is almost full up for Christmas. Our other two resorts are doing very well,
says owner Stephen Purdew.
Champneys, has for 81 years, represented the finest surroundings in luxury care. Champneys Henlow, Tring and Springs have been added to the group, and has been a favourite hideaway for Diana Princess of Wales, David and Victoria Beckham and Kylie Minogue.
Champneys has seen an increase in shorter stays.
People still economising are doing overnights or day breaks. This is taking place in the resorts, but also clearly the Champneys City Break concepts are allowing people to shop in boutiques, then take a load off their feet by stepping into another world at Champneys in Bath, Brighton, Enfield, Guilford, Tunbridge Wells and St. Albans.
It may be that people are economising on material items, but then they certainly aren?t doing so on treatments such as a Relaxing Facial, Chocolate Wrapper, Full Body Massage and Aqua Therapy Detox. It could be that they are doing this instead of buying products such as the Grapefruit Bliss, or nail and cuticle wonder oil.
A lot of people are taking the opportunity to step away from the pressures of everyday life, for a break whether they like it or not….
They are saying to themselves
“I need this for me. At all costs they are prepared to take time out for themselves.”
says Purdew.
