GOURMET WEEKEND AND COOKERY WORKSHOP AT THE OLD GOVERNMENT HOUSE HOTEL, GUERNSEY

Devoted foodies can combine a gourmet weekend away, sampling some of Guernsey’s finest cuisine, with the chance to discover the island’s many charms by joining a speciality break at the Old Government House Hotel & Spa in St Peter Port.

The historic hotel is offering a two night stay on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 March from £249 per person, which includes a seasonal cookery workshop with the resident French Chef de Cuisine, Jerome Barbançon and an evening Menu Degustation et Vins. This will be served in the intimate, two AA rosette Governor’s fine-dining restaurant with five-courses complemented by five wines, specially pared to the food by the hotel’s sommelier.

The foodie break also includes a bottle of chilled champagne with canapés delivered to the room on arrival; Saturday lunch in the informal French themed Brasserie with a half bottle of wine per person and two nights B&B accommodation in a King Room. Guests have unlimited use of the hotel’s Revolution Health Club and Spa while pamper treatments can be booked in the new Renaissance Salon de Beaute wellbeing centre (extra). They will also receive a welcome pack containing a profile of Jerome Barbançon and a personal copy of the dinner menu signed by him to take back home.

Extra nights can be booked at £65 per person B&B based on two sharing; further gourmet weekends will be held on the last Friday and Saturday of every month, apart from August.
