Haldanes Restaurant Edinburgh, brand new bistro

To celebrate the opening of their brand new bistro, Edinburgh’s Haldanes Restaurant are serving up a unique menu perfectly proportioned for busy lunchtime diners and leisurely ladies who lunch.

afternoon tea

Served in the chic, street level bistro area, the new menu offers an array of freshly prepared lunch dishes for only £6. Simultaneously launching a new afternoon tea option, diners are also being invited to sample Haldanes newest offering of the finest home baking.

Chef George Kelso and his team prepare menus that utilise the freshest local produce to serve exquisite examples of the finest Scottish cuisine. The lunch menu features delicious dishes including smoked haddock fishcakes, venison and root vegetable casserole and haggis filo parcels. To finish, Haldanes will be offering a range of freshly baked cakes, desserts and fresh ground coffee.

The stylish upstairs area was created with Haldanes move to the New Town area in early 2006 and refurbished last month. Vettriano’s hang on fresh, contemporary walls with classic furniture and subtle lighting offering a contemporary space to relax and enjoy a light lunch. A traditional oak bar sits at the end of the 14 cover bistro, with an envious selection of fine wine, malts, cocktails and liqueurs.

The lunchtime bistro is open from 12noon until 2pm Tuesday – Friday.
