The building is amazing, full of old beams and very medievil. this is in
all ways a modern gastropub, serving very fresh fish and modern british
food.

I had the fruits de mer, which being an avid fish fan, was
outstanding. the assortment of shellfish was mind boggling. this took me
all of two hours to dismantle and I had no room for dessert, but my other
half had banoffee pie….Wow!

The Alfold Barn Restaurant and Bar is a family run restaurant on the A281 between Horsham and Guildford. Our food is all freshly prepared by Frances and Dave in the kitchen, whilst you will be well looked after by Carolyn our restaurant manager. We have been at this 16th Century Barn for over six years now and look forward to many more years to come.

Our food changes daily and we will endeavour to make whatever our customers request, if it is in season and available. We source fish daily and try to vary the catch as often as possible. Our Seafood Platter or ‘fruits de mer’, is probably the best you will try, with an amazing assortment of shellfish.

An absolute delight from arriving and leaving. Pity I didn’t get hugs and kisses like two other diners. But that won’t stop me visiting again.

date of visit 28 November 2009.
We knew of the Barn when we lived nearby, but we had to come all the way from our present home in Dorset to enjoy an anniversary dinner there. It was well worth the journey (and we shall make more!). The welcome was literally very warm in the forms of the hostess and the blazing log fire. The food and the service were absolutely outstanding. Normally I never check a bill, but this one was so moderate that I had to satisfy myself we had not been undercharged. I can heartily recommend this establishment to both the young and hungry, and the older and (perhaps) more discerning! A very enjoyable experience.
