Myristica Restaurant | Fine Indian Dining In Bristol
Fine Indian dining has earned Myristica a great following in its first year of business in Bristol – New open-plan kitchen puts Myristica’s menu on show

The existing long bar has been transformed into a fully operating kitchen with chefs on show cooking Myristica’s extensive selection of authentic dishes – including freshly-prepared curry sauces to order and naan breads and tandoori dishes straight from the charcoal-fired stoneware oven.
The new kitchen also features a special section making Masala Dhosas – a south Indian specialty of paper thin rice flour pancakes filled with chicken, prawns or vegetables.
A new menu will be launched in mid November with another new addition – a fresh seafood counter offering a marinated selection of fish that customers can choose and request the chefs to cook as they like. For example, pick the marinated prawns on display and have them served as a starter, in a mixed salad, with your favourite curry sauce, or just as they are!
But it’s not just guests inside that will be able to see what’s cooking… a plasma screen in the window will give passer’s by a taste of the action from the open kitchen!
A new private dining room has been created for diners looking to host a special occasion dinner around a large table, or for businesses looking for somewhere to host a working lunch.
The music system has also been revamped so that the volume can be adjusted to suit each section of the restaurant.
The open kitchen was always the plan for Myristica, which was opened by brothers Amit and Tosh Lakhani in early 2007; however, several planning problems had to be overcome as it’s a listed building.
The brothers have now been able to put their plan into action and are looking forward to giving guests the complete Myristica experience. “There’s something so tantalizing about watching professional chefs go about their business, and the smells, sights and sounds from the kitchen are a real appetizer!” said Tosh.
