We were in Battle for the weekend, not sure where to eat. On
asking local advice, the name which kept coming up was Nobles Restaurant.

On arrival we were greeted promptly and in friendly but professional
manner and, prior to ordering our meal, were served with our wine and some
wonderful, warm bread made that day in the kitchen.

I started with soup, which was hot and very tasty. My partner’s starter
was the Three Ways Duck – delicious and just the right size.

My main course was Wild Boar, cooked to perfection, looked fantastic and
tasted superb. My partner ordered the Romney Marsh Beef, again, cooked to
perfection and exactly as requested.

For dessert I had a White Chocolate Cheesecake to die for. The Sticky
Toffee Pudding my partner ordered was just as good.

We ended with home-made chocolate truffle and coffee which finished our
evening perfectly. The cost was around £32 per person, including service.

Other things of note:
. A British restaurant with British food.
. Style of restaurant – clean, comfortable, pleasing to the eye. Plenty
of room, not squashed.
. Booking – taken over the phone in polite, competent-sounding but
friendly manner.

We left Nobles feeling happy that we’d found a restaurant which will give
us a really good experience each time we visit Battle.
