Visitors are invited to explore the grounds, meet<br \/>\nwell-known chefs and enjoy the day\u2019s entertainment including the main highlight<br \/>\nof the Festival, The British BBQ Championships. <\/p>\n<p>The Championships is a colourful competition introduced last year to Ilminster,<br \/>\nSomerset.  Teams of up to five people compete in a contest judged by a range of<br \/>\nprofessional chefs, including Antony Worrall Thompson, for the Championship<br \/>\ntitle and a \u00a3500 or \u00a31000 cash prize.  Contestants enter as either professional<br \/>\nor novice, and a third option allows budding BBQ-ers to compete against amateur<br \/>\nteams representing countries across the globe. All teams will cook a joint of<br \/>\nLaverstoke organic buffalo and another of their choice on an open fire BBQ<br \/>\nprovided by Blistering Barbeques. Professional teams currently include The<br \/>\nBrasserie at The Aviator Hotel at Farnborough, Roast of Borough Market,<br \/>\nChewton Glen Hotel &#038; Spa, Blistering BBQ\u2019s &#038; Chicago Rib Shack. <\/p>\n<p>A full programme of family entertainment will include: Laverstoke\u2019s own buffalo &#038;<br \/>\nhog roasts, jazz band, fantastic farm tours, a bouncy castle, magic show, coconut<br \/>\nshies, cork shoot, dunk tank &#038; other fete classics. <strong>Guests are also encouraged to<br \/>\nBBQ within the grounds and proud event sponsor Sainsbury\u2019s will be product<br \/>\nsampling from their SO Organic range to complement visitors\u2019 picnics.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p><strong>One Meaty Day Out!
