{"id":435,"date":"2009-05-11T15:42:51","date_gmt":"2009-05-11T15:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dine-online.co.uk\/foodie\/bel-canto-restaurant-honours-jose-carreras-with-three-tenners-menu\/"},"modified":"2009-05-11T15:45:23","modified_gmt":"2009-05-11T15:45:23","slug":"bel-canto-restaurant-honours-jose-carreras-with-three-tenners-menu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dine-online.co.uk\/foodie\/bel-canto-restaurant-honours-jose-carreras-with-three-tenners-menu\/","title":{"rendered":"Bel Canto restaurant HONOURS JOSE CARRERAS WITH THREE TENNERS MENU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RESTAURANT HONOURS JOSE CARRERAS WITH THREE TENNERS MENU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Feast on pasta and \u2018popera\u2019 for a fraction of the cost<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bel Canto &#8211; London<br \/>\nMark Lane,<br \/>\nOff Fenchurch Street,<br \/>\nBank,<br \/>\nLondon,<br \/>\nEC3R 7AA<\/p>\n<p>0207 444 0004 <\/p>\n<p>Bel Canto restaurant in London will be slashing its prices to serve the Three Tenners Menu in honour of Jos\u00e9 Carreras, who has announced his exit from the operatic stage. <strong>Carreras, along with Luciano Pavarotti and Pl\u00e1cido Domingo, made up one third of famous operatic trio, the Three Tenors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From May 19-21 diners can savour some of the greatest arias, duets and choruses in town while enjoying a luxurious three-course meal &#8211; for \u00a330 a head.<\/p>\n<p>The menu will also mark the arrival of internationally renowned head chef, Gilles Martin, while paying homage to the annual Glyndebourne Festival, which begins on May 21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bel Canto is the creation of owner Jean-Paul Maurel, whose sister restaurants at d\u2019Hotel de Ville and on Neuilly-sur-Seine in Paris are renowned amongst Parisians as the premier venues for erudite dining.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The concept restaurant sees rigorously auditioned young opera singers serve as waiters, who break into live performances throughout the evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very excited to be working in London at Jean-Paul Maurel\u2019s latest restaurant. And to have my dishes served by such talented opera singers is a great privilege,\u201d says Martin.<\/p>\n<p>The gifted stars-to-be \u2013 many of whom are students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama \u2013 will be performing at this year\u2019s Glyndebourne Festival.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cMusic and food are delicacies that should not be rushed,\u201d says owner Jean-Paul Maurel. \u201cAt Bel Canto diners are invited to take their time and absorb the sensory experience our expert singers and chefs create. My staff turn a meal into a virtuoso performance.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The latest appointment to the Bel Canto team has previously worked with Jean-Paul in Paris and his credentials include the two-Michelin-star Trianon Palace in Versailles as well as the one-Michelin-star Fouquet&#8217;s on the Champs-Elys\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><br \/>\nFollowing on from the success of Bel Canto in Paris, owner Jean-Paul Maurel has now brought his renowned opera dinners to London.
