I visited Swank last night, 13\/10\/08. It used to be called The
\nBull hotel (which i think it’s still part of) and it has now been refurbished
\nto a very high standard,with cosy brown sofas in the lounge area and
\nmodern table and chairs in the dining area.<\/p>\n

There is also a bar as you go in where you can sit before you eat, with 2 large flat screen tvs, although
\nthis dosent take away the classy edge. There is one thing that I think
\nwouldnt be to eveyones taste and that is the lighting. There are tealights
\ndotted around and on the tables, but at the bar and in various places some
\ncurious colour changing lights, bright blue, green, red? I think they are
\ntrying to create a modern atmosphere but its not really my style. The
\nservice was pleasant, although the waiter could have been more
\nknowledgable, but the most impressive thing about SWANK is the food!
\nAbsolutely gorgeous and not overpriced, \u00a37.50 starter and \u00a314.00 main! <\/strong><\/p>\n

I had duck spring rolls with homemade mango chutney, they were delicious,
\nlight crispy pastry, not greasy and plenty of filling, the mango chutney
\nwas really good. I had steak for main course which was perfectly cooked
\nwith pomme neuf (9 chips in a stack) and mushrooms in a crispy onion
\nbasket, served with a small salad garnish and a pot of peppercorn sauce,
\nand vine tomatoes. My friend had the lamb which was also gorgeous and just
\npink enough, 10\/10 for food which was by the way piping hot! only
\ncriticism- it was quiet but as it was a Monday understandable, I’m sure
\nonce everones sampled the food it will be the busiest place in town! <\/strong><\/p>\n
