Canal Station, Paisley | Restaurant Review<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kate Morrison reviews Canal Station, Paisley, PA1 2HF<\/em><\/p>\n

My friend and I visited the new bar and restaurant Canal Station
\nin Paisley this weekend, and had such a good time that I felt the need to
\nlet people know about it. It’s just a couple of minutes walk from Canal
\nStreet train station where the old Platform 1 was.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There’s a good sized bar area featuring a very long and well stocked bar
\nwhich has a nice selection of wines. On one side of the bar you can go
\nthrough to the little snug area which would be really nice for private
\nfunctions whereas the other side takes you through to the restaurant,
\nconservatory and outdoors to the beer garden which is a good size and I
\nimagine it would be a bit of a suntrap. although it’s unlikely that we’re
\ngoing to see anymore sun this year!<\/p>\n

There are lots of comfy sofas around at the bar, upon which my friend and
\nI plonked ourselves down on while we sipped on our cocktails –
\nCosmopolitans being our tipple of choice a la Carrie and co. Being
\nnaturally nosey, I also noticed a flyer promoting 2 for 1 cocktails on
\nThursday nights from 5-8pm – so guess where I’ll be after work next
\nThursday! We were feeling a bit on the peckish side so we decided to order
\nsome snacks from the Small Dishes menu – 3 tapas dishes for \u00a310 which I
\nthought was quite good value. We tried the Spicy Spanish Sausage, Spanish
\nBlack Pudding and the Garlic and Chilli Mushrooms, all of which were
\ngenerous in size and delicious.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Overall I was really impressed with Canal Station’s lovely d\u00e9cor, friendly
\nstaff and great food. The tapas dishes gave me a taste of what to expect
\nfrom the restaurant so I’ll definitely be booking a table very soon!<\/p>\n
