Careful restoration of the building, complete with brand new hand carved wood panelling and exposed stone walls has created a unique and contemporary appearance. With walls painted in soft creams and muted browns, The Giffnock Ivy oozes sophistication in a more relaxed atmosphere offering the perfect modern venue for a memorable dining experience.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nThe Giffnock Ivy offers innovative infusions of Scottish and French cuisine with a twist. Customers are invited to enjoy homemade dishes with distinct flavours, all of which are prepared using the best quality, locally sourced ingredients. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Food at The Giffnock Ivy is prepared under the supervision of experienced head chefs Stuart Howie, formerly of the Turnberry Hotel, and Derek Blair, who trained at Nick Nairn&#8217;s Glasgow restaurant.  The theme of the menu, as the name \u2018The Giffnock Ivy\u2019 implies, is packed full of luxurious, indulgent dishes inspired by Stuart and Derek\u2019s love for French and Scottish cuisine. The profusion of colours, scents and flavours combine to create an atmosphere as convivial and credible as a trip to France, hosted by proprietor Peter Purewal.<\/p>\n<p>The creative menu uses rustic influences with the real scents of France to woo diners into a charming spell of authenticity, offering dishes from traditional French foie gras, sea salt and homemade star anise bread and ravioli of west coast langoustines served in a pool of rich lobster bisque.  The restaurant also offers a number of fantastic meat free options with imaginative vegetarian options available such as pan fried sea bass served with fresh herd tagliagtelli and wilted bok choi with a sweet red pepper sauce or baked red peppers filled with delicate asparagus and tofu risotto.<\/p>\n<p>Diners can choose from several options ensuring all tastes and appetites are catered for, with an enticing array of fresh seafood, rich meat dishes and mouth-watering canap\u00e9s on offer.  The unique dishes make imaginative use of local, seasonal produce whilst the team adopts a traditional kitchen philosophy. <\/p>\n<p>The accompanying international wine list both enhances and is enhanced by the dishes on offer, which features a large selection of handpicked fine wines and champagnes.
