Helen Field was not happy with he Dining Experience at Masons Restaurant, Brentwood
We went to celebrate a 50th birthday. The initial atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant enough, but for what is an expensive restaurant (nearly £200 for 4 people) the service was appalling… all done by 16-17 year olds with no proper training and attitude problems.
Orders were wrongly taken, food arrived at different times and luke warm the sauce which was supposed to accompany the duck & steak was non existant, we asked for more sauce to accompany the steak as it was dry and this was greeted with a “tut” and then a jug was brought in and plonked in front of us.
We waited over 20 mins for a bottle of wine… finally having to ask another waitress to fetch it (we had to do the same thing with the bill!) Liquer coffees were bought up, the waiter stretched across everyone before banging them down at the wrong place settings for the person to pass on.
We made our feeling known and I have emailed the manager. After 3 days of waiting , I emailed again and rec’d a terse reply to say I would be “Delt” (sic) with in due course.
Over a week later I am still waiting. Since then I have seen various bad reviews for this restaurant. I wish I had seen them earlier, and just want to warn other people who may also have a special occasion thoughly ruined.
£ 200 for 4 – what did u all have ? clearly just a side order !
this isnt even a decent glass of wine
