Film Four movie Margate Exodus Starring Damrong Garbutt of Surin Restaurant, Ramsgate

Watch out for Film Four movie “Margate Exodus” – says Mrs Damrong Garbutt the chef and founder of Surin restaurant

Sawasdee-kaa

Please look out for (or set your DVD to record!) the Film Four movie “Margate Exodus” (or “Exodus”) next Monday 19th November at 10pm on Channel 4.

It stars me, Mrs Damrong Garbutt the chef and founder of Surin restaurant as Chang, the leader of the Asian tribe who battles the evil pharaoh to help liberate Margate and Dreamland.

The film also stars Bernard Hill of “Boys from the Blackstuff” fame with art by Antony Gormley and music by Brian Eno with a cast of several hundred local people.

The film has premiered at the Venice and London Film Festivals as well as Dreamland cinema itself and I have previously been filmed by BBCTV and featured in Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night show.

I am very happy to be a film star and it is nice to see the movies come to Thanet and Ramsgate, especially as I am also developing the Surin Asian Film Club where I hope to show interesting Asian films in Ramsgate.

I hope you enjoy the film and come down to visit our lovely coast and try my Surin microbeer and curry sauces.

Best wishes,

Damrong
