TravelConnect Launch Campaign to Find the UK’s Best B&B
Travel portal www.travelconnect.co.uk , launches a campaign to find the UK’s best B&B.
Once the backbone of the traditional British getaway, the UK’s B&Bs have had a bad time of it over the last few decades as the nation’s taste for cheap package holidays to the sun or independently booked trips to Europe, as well as the ‘Basil Fawlty’ effect, which put many Brits off holidaying at home, all took their toll. But the trend against UK holidays may be beginning to turn.
Dale Lovell, Editor of TravelConnect.co.uk, explains;
“The last two years have seen a massive increase in the number of us opting to take short breaks and holidays in the UK, which can only be good news for the British B&B.
“Better accommodation, greater awareness of the environmental impact of travelling abroad and better knowledge of the fantastic tourist attractions we have right on our doorsteps are all factors in ensuring more and more of us opt to take holidays at home in the future.”
As more and more Brits opt to holiday at home, TravelConnect.co.uk is currently taking nominations from the public asking them to recommend their favourite B&Bs.
B&B nominations are open until 31st December, 2007. A panel of experts will then wittle down the list to a final shortlist before naming the TravelConnect Best Loved British B&B in January, 2008.
